The study carried out on the main routes of the paved cantonal road network of Paraíso during 2011, contemplates the diagnosis of the road network. This report details the evaluation of approximately 13 km, the evaluation includes different parameters such as deflectometry, IRI (International Roughness Index), vehicle counts and open pit surveys.
The deflections in the RVC studied show that about 66% of the measurements performed correspond to a structural condition between good and regular, while 18% of the measurements correspond to a condition of considerable structural damage. Regarding IRI measurements, it was determined that about 60% of these correspond to a severely irregular condition, with IRI values equal to or greater than 10 m / km.
In general the type of subgrade found in the studied routes has low shear resistance and is characterized by being made up of fine materials like silts or clays.
