Determinación de factores camión para pavimentos rígidos asociados a encuestas de carga y estaciones de pesaje en Costa Rica período 2007-2017

Abstract

El factor camión es uno de los componentes principales en la estimación de la demanda de cargas que tendrá el pavimento de una carretera. Contar con factores camión confiables es de suma importancia durante la etapa de diseño. En el presente estudio se recopiló y analizó las bases de datos sobre pesajes registrados entre los años 2007 y 2017 por el LanammeUCR y el MOPT, donde se contó con más de 15 millones de vehículos pesados, distribuidos en diferentes rutas del país; a partir de estos pesajes se calcularon los valores recomendados para los factores camión para pavimentos rígidos. Dada la necesidad de disponer de factores camión para pavimentos rígidos que consideren la realidad nacional, tanto en la época sin control como después de esta, se propone generar factores camión para pavimentos rígidos que estén asociados a un nivel de confiabilidad específico y que, además, consideren la cantidad de vehículos que contribuyen en la estimación del factor camión. Los factores camión para pavimentos rígidos determinados en el presente informe, contemplan la variabilidad interanual que existe actualmente y pondera dichos factores dando mayor peso a los factores estimados con mayor cantidad de vehículos. Además, brinda una serie de recomendaciones con el propósito de contar con factores camión para pavimentos rígidos más detallados.

The truck equivalency factor is one of the main components to estimate the load demand that the pavement structure will be subjected to. Having reliable truck factors is of utmost importance during the design stage. In this study, the databases of vehicle weighing registered between 2007 and 2017 by the LanammeUCR and the MOPT were collected and analyzed, which consisted of more than 15 million heavy vehicles, distributed on different routes along the country; from these data, the recommended values for the truck factors for rigid pavements were calculated. Given the need to have truck factors for rigid pavements that consider the national reality, both prior to after the implementation of fixed weight stations; truck factors were generate for rigid pavements associated with a specific level of reliability and that, also consider the number of vehicles that contribute in estimating the truck factor. The truck equivalency factors for rigid pavements determined in this report consider the yearly variability that currently exists, and weights these factors giving higher weight to the estimated factors with a higher number of vehicles. Besides, the report provides recommendations to have, more detailed truck factors for rigid pavements in the future
