Evaluación de la Ruta Nacional 1 Carretera Interamericana Norte, tramo Cañas - Liberia, Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Abstract

La Carretera Interamericana Norte, específicamente el tramo comprendido entre los poblados de Cañas y Liberia en la provincia de Guanacaste, fue sujeto de actividades de mejoramiento entre los años 2012 a 2014, con una inversión total de aproximadamente 219 millones de dólares. Comprende la ampliación a 2 carriles por sentido para la totalidad del tramo, con una superficie de ruedo en concreto hidráulico, así como la construcción de 3 pasos a desnivel principales, 18 puentes sobre diversos ríos y quebradas, y 9 puentes peatonales. En cumplimiento de los mandatos de la Ley 8114, este representa el primer informe de estado para obra nueva de dicho tramo, donde se aplicará la metodología de evaluación específica para pavimentos rígidos, recién desarrollada en el LanammeUCR. Con esto, se darán además recomendaciones en el tipo de actividades de intervención a ejecutar, así como deterioros presentes en dicha ruta.

Improvement work was carried out on the National Route No. 1 (Pan-American Highway) between 2012 and 2014. The works took place specifically between the towns of Cañas and Liberia in the province of Guanacaste. For this, a total investment of approximately $ 219 million was made. The works included: the increase to two lanes in each direction for the entire section, with a surface area of concrete, as well as the construction of three main overpasses, 18 bridges over several rivers and streams, and nine pedestrian bridges. The first status report for the new work of the Cañas - Libera section is represented here. This within the fulfillment of the mandates of Law 8114. For this report, a methodology recently developed by LanammeUCR was applied for the specific evaluation of rigid pavements. Here are indicated what are the deteriorations that have occurred on the route. In addition, recommendations are given on the type of intervention activities to be carried out.
