Fase 1 ensayo acelerado a escala natural de pavimentos (Diciembre)

Abstract

El presente informe recopila todas las etapas que fueron necesarias para ejecutar la primera fase del ensayo acelerado a escala natural de pavimentos en Costa Rica. Partiendo de la construcción de las instalaciones del primer laboratorio de ensayos acelerados de pavimentos de la región. Dicha fase tiene como propósito medir la respuesta de dichas estructuras ante cargas reales y así cuantificar su deterioro. Las mediciones se realizan con el objetivo final de calibrar modelos de predicción de los distintos tipos de deterioro (ej. Deformación plástica, agrietamiento por fatiga) que puede presentar el pavimento; todo entro de una mejora sustancial de los procesos de diseño de pavimentos. El informe se divide en 7 secciones: la primera plantea el contexto del estudio, con la introducción y los objetivos de este. La segunda sección describe los tramos de prueba que se diseñaron y construyeron para la primera serie de ensayos a ser ejecutados en el PaveLab, así como la caracterización de los materiales de las distintas capas de la estructura. La tercera sección describe el tipo de instrumentación que se colocó dentro de las estructuras del pavimento, o que es utilizada con el HVS para medir propiedades específicas de los materiales. La sección cuatro presenta algunos resultados preliminares que se han venido obteniendo, y que resultan de gran interés en el marco del desarrollo de los experimentos. Parte de estos resultados se han incluido en anexos. La sección cinco se ha reservado para las próximas etapas a desarrollar como parte del proyecto. En la sección seis se presenta una actualización del cronograma del proyecto. Finalmente, la sección siete presenta las referencias bibliográficas.

This report compiles all the stages that were necessary to execute the first phase of the accelerated test on a natural scale of pavements in Costa Rica. Starting from the construction of the facilities of the first accelerated pavement testing laboratory in the region. The purpose of this phase is to measure the response of these structures to real loads and thus quantify their deterioration. The measurements are made with the final objective of calibrating prediction models of the different types of deterioration (e.g. plastic deformation, fatigue cracking) that the pavement may present; everything came from a substantial improvement of the pavement design processes. The report is divided into 7 sections: the first raises the context of the study, with the introduction and objectives of it. The second section describes the test segments that were designed and constructed for the first series of tests to be executed in the PaveLab, as well as the characterization of the materials of the different layers of the structure. The third section describes the type of instrumentation that was placed inside the pavement structures, or that is used with the HVS to measure specific properties of the materials. Section four presents some preliminary results that have been obtained, and which are of great interest in the context of the development of the experiments. Part of these results have been included in annexes. Section five has been reserved for the next stages to be developed as part of the project. Section six presents an update of the project schedule. Finally, section seven presents the bibliographical references.
